Digital Precision Lens Measurements

Digital Precision Lens Measurements

To ensure optimal vision and comfort,
True Fit™
360 precisely measures various aspects related to the lenses:
  • Ocular Center Height: Ensures optimal lens positioning for clear, focused vision.

  • Pupillary Distance (PD): Precise measurement of the distance between your pupils for accurate lens centering.

  • Vertex Distance: Measures the distance from your eye to the lens, customizing lens curvature for enhanced clarity.

  • Tilt and Wrap of the Frame: Accounts for the angle and curvature of your frames to align perfectly with your line of sight.

Frame Fit Measurements

Frame Fit Measurements

True Fit™
360 ensures the glasses you select will fit comfortably by analyzing the following measurements:
  • Face Width vs. Frame Width: Ensures the frame fits your face comfortably.

  • Nose Bridge Width vs. Frame Bridge Width: Ensures the bridge of the frame fits your nose properly.

  • Front-to-Ear Distance vs. Temple Length: Confirms the length of the frame's temple to the distance from the front of your face to your ear.

True Fit™
360 Beta analyzes your features and flags when the frame is unsuitable. In such cases, our dedicated customer service support team will provide alternative options and professional fit support to ensure your glasses are comfortable and well-fitted.

Tips for a Successful
True Fit™
360 Scan
  • 1. Scan in a Well-Lit Location: Ensure you are in a well-lit area to help the camera capture clear and accurate measurements.
  • 2. Volume On: Keep the volume on for real-time audio prompts, if practical, to guide you through the scanning process.
  • 3. Hold the iPhone Vertically: Position the iPhone so that the camera at the top of the phone is at eye level. Avoid holding it below your eyeline or tilting it upwards.
  • 4. Turn Your Head Fully: When instructed to turn your head to the side, turn as far as possible so that your chin is almost over your shoulder.
  • 5. Stare Directly into the Camera: At the beginning of the scan, ensure you are staring directly into the camera on the phone, not down at the screen.
  • 6. Supported Devices: The
    True Fit™
360 tool is compatible with all iPhones and iPads with FaceID. For a full list of supported devices, refer to Apple's list of FaceID devices.
  • 7. Browser Compatibility: For the best experience, use Safari when performing the scan. Apple only supports Safari for the app clip experience.
  • Digital Free Form Lenses: For standard single vision glasses, we suggest upgrading to the recommended Digital Free Form lenses. These lenses benefit from additional position of wear measurements, including vertex distance (the space between your eye and the lens) and frame wrap (the curvature of your frame). This ensures your lenses are further tailored to you and your chosen frame in every aspect. Learn More
  • Progressive & Bifocal Lenses: All Progressive and Digital Lineless Bifocal lens designs offered by Payne include digital free technology, no action is needed in the lens selection process.
  • Pupillary Distance (PD): When entering your prescription/lens power, your PD entry will remain a required field to ensure all customers who order this frame can proceed with their order when opting not to utilize the
    True Fit™
360 tool. How to Measure PD. Rest assured, when opting in for TrueFit, your PD will be verified through the tool to ensure accuracy.
  • Order Holding: Your order will be held for up to 3 business days to allow time for you to complete your custom fitting measurements from a link that will be emailed to you after your order is placed and confirm the frame you selected meets your expectations for size and fit.
  • Reminder Email: If you do not complete your measurements, you will receive an auto-generated reminder email, giving you 24 hours to complete the process or contact customer service. If needed, we can proceed with fabricating your order using standard measurements to avoid delays in receiving your glasses.
  • Glasses Fitting: If, during your custom fitting, the glasses selected are found not to align with your best fit, you will be contacted by a trained agent to restyle into a better fitting frame. Our customer service team will also be available to provide additional support for restyling if needed.

FAQ

  • How does
    True Fit™
360 differ from the virtual try-on tool?

    True Fit™
    360:
Precision Measurements: Uses advanced technology to measure exact dimensions of your face and frame, ensuring a perfect fit.
Customized Lenses: Tailors lenses to enhance comfort and vision based on your unique measurements.
Fit Confirmation: Confirms that the selected frame fits well and allows for reselection if needed.
    Virtual Try-On (VTO):
Visual Preview: Provides an approximation of how the glasses will look on you.
No Measurement Integration: Does not ensure the frame fits your face properly, only focuses on appearance.
In summary, while VTO gives a visual idea of how frames will look,
    True Fit™
360 ensures both the fit and comfort of your glasses through precise measurements.
  • How accurate is
    True Fit™
    360?

Research backed by extensive data proves that
    True Fit™
360, powered by cutting-edge Topology fit technology, is as accurate, if not more accurate, than measurements taken in retail stores by opticians. Major retail chains that employ opticians are now integrating this tool into their retail experience, eliminating the need for manual measurements and improving accuracy in advanced custom lens manufacturing. This technology also eliminates the need for customers to visit the stores, as all measurements previously taken manually can now be taken digitally, providing customization beyond the standard measurements routinely used in retail.
  • Will I still need my glasses to be adjusted to my face when I receive them?

    True Fit™
360 provides information to guide pre-fitting adjustments to your frame before we dispatch them to you. However, please note that additional adjustments may still be necessary. Shipping can cause the glasses to come out of alignment. While we do our best to pre-adjust your frame to your specifications, there may be a need for a professional optician to make the perfect adjustments with you present for the fit. Most retail optical stores offer this service free of charge. Technology cannot replace the human touch, although this technology promises to come close.
  • During my f itting, if the glasses I selected are not a suitable fit, what are my options?

If the glasses you selected are not a suitable fit during your fitting, you have the following options:

Restyle into a Better Fitting Frame:
    True Fit™
360 will recommend frames that are more suitable based on your measurements. You can choose from these recommended options to find a better fit.
Customer Support: Our trained customer service team is available to provide additional support and assist you in selecting a frame that will provide the best fit and comfort.
  • If the glasses I select are not available with
    True Fit™
360 or I opt out, will they still be made accurately?

Yes, if the glasses you select are not available with
    True Fit™
360 or if you choose to opt out, they will still be made accurately. We use standard industry measurements and manufacturing processes to ensure that your glasses meet high-quality standards and provide good fit and vision. However, opting in for
    True Fit™
360 allows for an even higher level of customization and precision.
  • When will more frame options be available with
    True Fit™
    360?

More frame options will be available in the next 30 days. Stay tuned for updates!
  • When will
    True Fit™
    360 be compatible with Android?

    True Fit™
360 is expected to launch on Android soon. Please check back for updates on compatibility.
  • Can TrueFit show me what my glasses will look like on me?

    During the Beta phase,
    True Fit™
360 will confirm the fit of your glasses but will not display images. Please use our integrated virtual try-on tool to see how the glasses will look on you. Check back soon as we add more features to
    True Fit™
    360.
